Monday Made It {fan freebie!}

Hey everyone!  I'm linking up with 4th Grade Frolics for Monday Made It today!

This is only my second Monday Made It this summer.  Yikes!!  I need to get movin!!

I have a great interactive board that I use for writing that was a hot mess at the end of the year.  It looked like this:

It is from my Fancy Nancy's Favorite words pack in my store.

As you can see the pockets are ripped, words are falling off, and I even hand wrote one of the words... {gasp!}

So, I raided our art closet and found a big piece of foam board and got to work!

I started by using washi tape and creating a boarder.... I {double puffy} heart washi tape!!

I just happened to find these pretty amazing mini paper bags from Michaels

Since I'm lovin' all things chevron... I knew these would be great library pockets!

They are pretty lightweight so I will have to have a big talk with the kids about being careful.... I'm sure I'll have a few casualties as the year goes on ;)

I have updated my Fancy Nancy pack so that my words are a bit well.... fancier...

but my printer is on the fritz {grrr} so it will look like this:

With the "dull" word on the outside of the pocket and the "fancy" words on the inside!

Sunday Smorgasbord

I seriously cannot get my act together!

I think I am in denial.  Complete denial that it is AUGUST!  We go back on Aug. 20th.  Boo.

I know I say it every summer ....but really...

WHERE DID THE SUMMER GO?

Anyway...

Have you heard of this?

OMG people... I have to check it every single day.  

So basically it is an app that lets you know what apps are free for the day.

My 5 year old and I have been having a blast downloading just about everything under the sun ---cuz well you know- it's FREE! :)

They have free apps for the iPad and iPhone.

I've gotten a few apps for the classroom but lots of fun apps for my son.

Is there anyone out there using Math Expressions Common Core?

I need a fan--- I need someone to tell me this will be good for me and my students.

I used Expressions when it was not "common core" and I didn't like it.  Now we have all new materials and I'm freaking out!  

I hope to blog more about it when I dive in... AND I hope to find some other Expression people out there!?!

Well...it's BRAND NEW!!

This past Friday night on my Facebook page I asked for some questions- well those questions were posted and answered by many of my followers.  I call it our support group for teachers!  I thought it went AMAZINGLY well for the first try.

Our first session was all Daily 5/CAFE driven.  It might be that way for a few sessions as I know many have questions.

I hope to extend our support to many other topics as well.

I plan to do it once a week...  exact day is undetermined yet.  I will probably do it randomly until my school year is in swing ... and then I will be able to pick a more permanent day.
