About Me

Welcome! I am so glad you are here!  People that stop by, leave a comment, and even become a follower are my most favorite people in the world! :)

I am currently in my 14 year of teaching (yikes- has it been that long??).  I have taught 7 years of first and I am now in my 7th year of second grade.  You will see me post about my classroom mostly (second), however, I will often try share how to adapt ideas and share very general ideas that could be taken to any primary classroom.

Which grade do I love better you ask?  Well that is a tough question.  I started in second.  Was moved to first.  Taught 7 straight years of first- that was the toughest and most rewarding 7 years of my life.  I then had the opportunity to go back to second.  I jumped at the chance. I say that first made me the teacher I am today, confident, kind, and engaging, yet second will always be where my heart is.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you will return back often!

  1. Hi Tori,
I am a new follower and have enjoying reading your posts and trying out your projects. I just ordered the books The Daily Five and CAFE.

Do you have available the bulletin board letters and titles you show on your CAFE bulletin board picture?

  2. Hi! I'm Ellen and I've just started an education blog: E for Educate. I'm focused on general educational topics - differentiation, engagement based learning, educational news, etc., and general tips and resources that teachers of all subjects can use (K-12)...

Your blog is one of the ones I've periodically come across and enjoyed... I'm contacting you and some other experienced education bloggers to see if you would pass by if you have time (e4educate.com), take a look around, and pass on a little advice!

If you don't have time, I understand...

    Thanks for your consideration,

    Ellen Mady

  3. I am trying to find a blog link to something of yours I found before, but can't find now. It was your word-ring blog - about having 3 ring - Words I'm Learning to Read, Spell, and Write (?) it gives the students 9 opportunities to master the words they are learning. Can you give me information on where I can read that again? I'm planning ahead to next year. I have always done word rings, but just one ring -- I liked your idea better!
