Must have picture book linky!

So I wasn't going to post today until.... dun..dun..DUN!!! This magical linky came across my screen... Ugh.  I love books more than coffee...gasp! So, I just had to link up... geezz Lindsey... thanks! :)  Check out the teacher wife to see more!

No, but really... this is a super fun linky and I'm even getting my charge card ready to go as I learn about more cool books to buy!

There are in no particular order...just some that I {heart!}
The Water Hole

I use this one to talk about our "gathering area" when I introduce Daily 5.  We talk about how important our space is to us and how to respect the space and each other.

Albert

The story and illustrations in this book are to die for!  This is a great story about over coming your fears!  It is such a touching story- your kids will love it!

Fancy Nancy

Who doesn't love this fancy girl!  I love to use this book (and others with this character) while I introduce FANCY WORDS.  I have a fun activity to go with this in my TpT store.

The Recess Queen

If you don't have this book...go...buy...it...NOW!  It is so CUTE!  I read it at the beginning of the year as we talk about playground safety AND bullying.  Then the the spring we do a reader's theater of the book and the kids have so much fun with it!

Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!

I love EVERYTHING by Mo Willems...but this one my student's just love!  I actually use this book while introducing "check for understanding" in CAFE because it is easy to follow and they get a BIG kick out of it!  I then do a Mo Willems author study at the beginning of the year because his books are so readable.  I also use his Gearld and Piggy books for fluency.

Have a great Monday!

  10. Oh Fancy Nancy! I'm pretty sure if I had to pick a book character that I was similar to, it just might be her! :)
