Ups and DOWNS and Monday Made It

You gotta love life...sometimes there's ups... and then there's
 d o w n s...

Yes, that is our tree... now laying in the middle of our yard.  Thank you mother nature.  I was just saying how some rain would be nice. Well, she heard me and gave us rain... with... hurricane like winds.  We are all ok... the house luckily is ok... and we have power back on so things are looking back ... Up. :)
(good thing I know someone with a chainsaw... see last post for the answer to that one :)

---------and now on to Monday Made It!--------

Wait!! Oh my gosh... I forgot to mention.... WELCOME to all my new followers!  Yesterday I had 196 and now I have like 230 something.  WOWWIE!  I hope you all stick around for a bit! :)

So excited to join 4th Grade Frolics for Monday Made It again :)

My project is actually from another awesome blogger... Beg Borrow and Steal (click link to see her idea) who had the idea of "sparklers."  I loved it so much that I wanted to make a version of it too! (thanks for letting me "steal" your idea!)

So off to the Dollar Tree I go (what teacher doesn't live in a Dollar Tree??)....

I stocked up on a bunch of goodies!  I got these blue containers 3 for $1 and then put the foam letters/numbers on them.  One container will represent each "team" of kids.  I actually have 2 sizes of foam, so the numbering stood out more clearly.  I can also group the "teams" by color too if I want.

I am hoping to use this mainly for transition times.  If the "team" gets their things out quickly and quietly and are ready for the next lesson- they will get a "super puff" (or something... I'm still working on the the name... any ideas????) to put in their bucket.  If they get so many by the end of the week they will get some kind of reward (still working on that too).

This little guy loves project time as much as I do! :)
I then thought the buckets needed some "bedazzling"!!  So on with the glitter glue :)  It was a nice touch.
I'm excited to use these this year!!

Once last thing... how stinkin' cute are these??  I could only find one package... guess I'm going on a hunt for more!

Thanks for stopping by! :)
Be safe everyone!

  2. I am so thankful the tree didn't hit your house. So sad that it came down. We have huge oaks around our house and every hurricane season I hold my breath and pray a lot!! You tubs turned out so cute!!! Thanks for linking up:))) I have those pencil pennants too!!! Love them:))) Not sure how I'm going to hand them out yet but thought they were too cute to pass up:)

  7. Wow, so sad for your beautiful tree! From the first picture, it looked like it had landed on your house. So great to hear that it didn't. I couldn't imagine what I would do if that happened here. Yikes! On a positive note, super cute buckets! I've seen people use the puffs as a whole class or bucket filling, but never for table teams. I like it!

  8. Sorry about your tree! We need rain here too! And I am a Dollar Tree addict. If they sold stock, I'd be wealthy!
